I'am a french guy. If your Eve client don't launch after the Dominion 1.0.2 patch ( dominion mini picture then... return to desktop instead of launching Eve in full screen ) you have to verify this :
- check the pref.ini file in Users\NTwic\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings ( I have Vista 32bits, but I am sure you can find this file une the user directory in XP ) - on the line clusterName=XXX@XXX, there must be some accent on the PC name => Replace the accentuated characters ( exemple : +VE => EVE ) - save the file - launch Eve & enjoy!!
Hope I help you, sorry for my bad english...

My french friend. I belive i just fell in love with you, hehe! I myself have a french name with an accent in my name, and my pc has my name. Replaced the F with an e and problem fixed :)
Thank you
Guess this should be an easy problem for ccp to fix.
Oh man, I'm so confused. I'm getting this exact same thingy. I try to start EVE, the new cool looking Dominion small pictures pops up, stays there for 3 secs and then it's gone. And everything seems like nothing happened. No matter how many times I try, nothing happens. Well, tried to do the "frenchy fix" on it but... I don't even have a file called pref.ini anywhere on my computer. Cool? Here's the story short. Dominion was launched, I updated the game and started it with no probs. Then yesterday I started EVE, it told that I need to update again. A small patch that updated it to 1.0.2. and ever since EVE has stopped working. I've uninstalled the game, installed it again and updated and all. And again, the last time I can get to the log in screen is just before that 1.0.2. patch. It tells me to update and here I am, again, asking for tips and advice. Anyone? Pleeease...
You could try to search your harddrives for it, or have you already done that? Or are you using a mac aswell? Im not able to descrice the location of it any better then he did im afraid. Im using win7, maybe the file is somewhere else on other systems.
if using a win-pc try to - like stated above - to search your whole computer (make sure you have all fils visable (hidden files too!!!))
